luxury living in a UNESCO World Heritage Site
location
The Fort - or kotuwa in Sinhala – is like nowhere else in Sri Lanka. Kabok-paved streets, terracotta-tiled rooves, dilapidated homes exposing their coral walls; Galle Fort has clung on to its charm.
The art galleries, restaurants, and rampart views which have given the Fort its enduring appeal are within walking distance. Sri Lanka’s famed beaches and surfing spots are a short tuk ride away. Galle International Cricket Stadium is a ten-minute stroll through those kabok-paved streets. Gelaterias, spas, jewellers, traditional artists - Galle Fort has them all.
Please note: although the official address of the villa is 96 Pedlar Street, access to the villa is on Parawa Street. The ground floor of 96 Pedlar Street is now KK Boutique, easily identifiable by its orange light boxes. From KK Boutique, walk along Pedlar Street towards the ramparts wall, past 98 Pedlar Street, also easily identifiable by the tree growing out of its front gate. At the corner of 98 Pedlar Street, turn right onto Parawa Street. The entrance to 1740 is via a teak gate, which is the second gate on the right hand side.
The entrance is marked by the red arrow in the image below.
